Cupboard Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Cupboard ("the app") handles your information. It is written to be accurate to what the app actually does, not boilerplate - if the app's data handling changes, this document must change with it.

Cupboard is developed by Offline Studios, a non-profit that builds free, privacy-focused apps with no accounts, subscriptions, or data collection.

The short version

Your data is private. Everything you enter into Cupboard is stored locally on your device, and no one else - not Offline Studios, not Apple, not any third party - can see it.

What data the app stores, and where

Cupboard stores the following types of data, entered directly by you:

• Pantry inventory items (names, quantities, categories, storage locations, expiry dates)
• Receipt photos you capture or import, and the line items parsed from them
• Consumption rates and predicted run-out dates derived from your own history
• Shopping lists and reminder preferences
• App preferences

All of this is stored locally on your device only.

Receipts

Receipt photos are processed entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to any server, by us or by anyone else. Cupboard has no backend service: there is no server that could receive your receipt data, because none exists. Text extracted from a receipt is stored locally like any other data you enter, and the photos themselves are kept only where you choose to keep them (you can delete them at any time from within the app).

Third parties

Cupboard does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. No data is sold, shared, or disclosed to any third party, because none is ever collected in the first place. The app does not make network requests with your data. If we ever add optional features that involve network access in the future, such as syncing your data between your own devices, we will design them so that your data remains private and inaccessible to Offline Studios, and this policy will be updated first.

Your control over your data

• You can export your pantry data at any time from the app's settings.
• You can permanently delete all your data at any time from the app's settings.
• Uninstalling the app deletes all locally stored data.

Children's privacy

Cupboard is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). Since the app collects no data anywhere but the user's own device, no data about any user, including children, is ever collected, transmitted, or retained by the developer.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same location with a new effective date.
